UPI Transaction Limits
BankingUPI (Unified Payments Interface) has per-transaction and daily limits set by NPCI and individual banks. Standard UPI limit is Rs 1 lakh per transaction. Higher limits (Rs 2-5 lakh) are available for specific use cases like healthcare, education, and IPO applications.

Real-life example
Priya needs to pay Rs 1.8L school fee via UPI. Standard UPI limit Rs 1L. She makes two transfers: Rs 1L and Rs 80K on the same day (total within bank daily limit). Alternatively: use IMPS for Rs 1.8L in single transaction (higher limits on IMPS). For amounts above Rs 5L: RTGS mandatory.
